This past Wednesday was the annual RHA Benefit-a-Bull Fashion Show, and with awesome prize giveaways such as an iPad Mini and Beats Headphones, this was an event you did not want to miss out on. Local boutiques Shandy’s and Cozette’s took part in the event, as their clothing items were worn by models down the runway. Her Campus members Megan Hammer and Kelli Carmack participated in the fashion show as models and had a chance to reflect on their memorable moments. Hear about their experience below:

Megan Hammer: “I think this fashion show is an important tradition on campus. People don’t often associate modeling with supporting a good cause, so having a fashion show that receives donations on behalf of a local domestic abuse shelter is a twist. I hope to see it happen next year, and I would like to see it bigger and better than ever. Being a model is fun – I’ve done modeling for about a year now, but this was my first fashion show, and it means a lot to me that it was a fashion show somehow tied in with goodwill and helping out the community. Everyone who took part in it worked hard to make it happen, especially those who work for RHA. It was a blast.”

Kelli Carmack: “Being a model in the fashion show was so much fun! This was actually my second year modeling and this is definitely a tradition of mine that I want to do through all my four years here at USFSP. It’s so exciting to get to drive to boutiques and have the owner of the store help choose an outfit just for you; it makes me feel so fancy! Getting ready for the fashion show is always an exciting time. All the girls and I were putting on our makeup while jamming out to music and it was an awesome #GirlTime moment. Yes, we took a bunch of selfies and no, I am not ashamed of it. My favorite part of this year’s fashion show was getting to “strut my stuff” down the runway in this beautiful flower dress from Shandy’s boutique. I felt so beautiful in it, and all my friends were clapping for me as I walked down the runway. It was a really nice feeling and moment that I’ll never forget. But obviously, the most important part of the event was the fact that we were able to raise so many clothes for the CASA organization! I love how the fashion show event can be so fun, but also so meaningful.”
