Three of Our Favorite Boutiques!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

Shopping at the mall can get pretty old and tiring. The department stores all have the same generic brands, but you’re looking for something different. You can try Target or Charming Charlie, but they don’t have exactly what you’re looking for either.

Your local boutiques are some of the most unique and fun places to shop. They sell everything from clothes and accessories to gifts. They are guaranteed to have that perfect little black dress with the matching shoes and handbag. They’ll even have that cute gift to bring with you to the party. Here are a few of the best boutiques in the St. Petersburg/ Tampa Bay area.

The Shop

If you’ve already done your spring-cleaning and want to revamp your closet, you need to visit The Shop on 4th Street N in St. Petersburg. This boutique has all the latest trends. Need the perfect maxi dress to ring in the spring? They’ve got it.  If you’re looking for that perfect day-to-evening dress to wear underneath your cap and gown for graduation, they have that too. The handbag and jewelry collection is always changing with the seasons, so you will never find anything that’s “ so last year” at The Shop.  Most items here will cost you somewhere between $30-$50. The prices are affordable and the clothes are always in style! You can’t go wrong here. When you check out, add your name to the email list to receive discounts and store/merchandise information! Make sure to visit its sister store in South Tampa, The Look, located on S MacDill Ave.

All Sewn Up

This boutique, in my opinion, is fabulous for its jewelry alone! While the clothing prices can be a little on the high end ($40-$100), the jewelry is incredibly reasonable for the uniqueness of it. This boutique is more on the edgy side, which makes many of its necklaces, earrings, and cuffs unlike anything else. You won’t find jewelry like this at Macys or Dillard’s! All Sewn Up also hosts art shows and musical events at the store. Some of the brands they carry, but are not limited to, are Iron Fist, Warriors of Radness and Steady. Haven’t heard of any of those? Check them out at All Sewn Up on Central Avenue, also in St. Petersburg.

Francesca’s

So you’re looking for the perfect birthday gift for your best friend, or a silly gift for your boyfriend, and absolutely do not want to walk into Spencer’s. You want something small, and cute, maybe meaningful or funny? Just drive over the Howard Franklin and go to Westshore Mall and visit Francesca’s Boutique. I know, we said no malls. Francesca’s is the one exception! This boutique has the greatest little nick-nack’s and gifts you can find! You refuse to buy another naked man on a birthday card for your best friend’s birthday, but you’re broke and you can’t afford to spend much on her this year (don’t worry, she’ll understand). Francesca’s has makeup bags, candles, diaries, and unique bottle openers. It also has phone cases, measuring spoons and house décor. And it’s all priced for our college student pockets ($5-$30). This boutique is worth the drive into Tampa. Who wants another worthless gift from Spencer’s, anyway?
