Valentine’s Day with a boyfriend means a few very important things: you have to do something for your boyfriend and you probably have to get him a gift. Each relationship is different and every bond between a couple varies depending on who the people are. Whether you need to go over the top and shower bae in adoration or make him smile, we’ve got the gift for every duo!
1. Food: When I polled men the #1 response was “I want food.” Does this surprise us? No. If you want to make it more romantic, cook it for him yourself and set up a nice date night at home! You don’t have to go out to have a perfect meal.
2. A little action: This came in as #2…Again, surprising? No. I know this one doesn’t need to be explained but since it’s Valentine’s Day I can suggest it’s the perfect time to mix things up a little! Try some new techniques, even the ones that you swore you wouldn’t do.
3. Something for his car: You could treat his car to a surprise car wash and vacuum out those disgusting seats or surprise him by hanging a car freshener and adding a nice steering wheel cover. Either one he will love!
4. Something practical: Valentine’s Day is not a practical holiday but that doesn’t mean our gifts can’t be! Help your man out by getting him a few of the things he’s been forgetting to buy like socks, boxers, or shoes. There are so many funny V-Day themed clothes on the shelves this month! You can find the perfect balance between fun and flirty instead of overly mushy.
5. Renew his Netflix subscription: This one is a plus for the both of you. Most importantly, it’s a gift you know he will get use out of!
6. Little gestures: Who wouldn’t love getting in their car and seeing their tank on full? Everyone wants to wake up to a freshly cleaned bathroom! If your boyf and you have decided that this Valentine’s Day would be causal, a variety of small acts of love show him that he matters!
7. Love letters for throughout the year: Some of the best gifts cost no money at all and this is one of them. Give him 12 envelopes and write him a different note for each month of the year. If he ever gets down or misses you he can open his letter for the month and you know he’ll fall in love with you all over again…
8. A board game: This one is my personal favorite! If your relationship can survive the competition involved in a board game it can survive anything. Promise.
9. Chocolate Covered Strawberries: Even the manliest man can’t deny his love for a few chocolate covered strawberries. He will love you for this one, plus, it’s a proven fact that these are the sexiest dessert.
10. A deck of memories: This one may take you a while but it is well worth it! If you’ve known your man for a while, write down 52 favorite memories or things you love about him in a deck of cards, which he can flip through every week. You never know when he’ll need a pick me up throughout the year. He will love it.
Whether you’re going over the top with love letters or staying small with helping him out a bit, Valentine’s Day is unique to you and your man!
