Well hello there Her Campus dedicates, I have news. Summer is just around the corner and even though most of us are thinking about sun, friends, and fun there’s also something else we need to talk about….SUMMER school. Now I know some of you might be dry heaving at the fact you might have to go to school during the summer but believe it or not it’s not horrible!
Benefits:
Summer classes help keep your mind fresh during those lazy days of summer and keep you on track so that you can get your degree in four years or less.
Not only that but during the summer the campus is less crowded and if you’re a commuter like many others, then you guessed it: less students on Trax! Not like Trax is ever crowded, right?
When do I sign up?
Now! Appointments on CIS have already started so get to it! If you are still unsure about when your account will let you sign up you can double check your “View your Registration Dates” by clicking on the tab on the right hand side of your CIS account.
Â
How do I sign up?
Just as you would sign up for your fall or spring classes, after logging in to your CIS account just click on the tab on the far right side marked “add class”, click on the “Summer 2013” option and enjoy!
Pick whatever classes fit your summer work or play schedule and try to tackle any generals classes you have put off or classes that didn’t fit in your schedule during fall/spring semester.
Options:
Don’t forget that most classes offered in the summer can be offered on campus or online. Do whatever is best for your lifestyle and time. Our editor Nafisa took an online music course while she was on vacation in Ireland this summer and weekly assignments were super do-able despite her being out of the country. Also, their classes not just offered on the University campus but at Sandy, Murray, etc… off-main campus locations as well.
So, now that you have the know-how, what are you waiting for? Give it a try and sign up for summer classes ASAP! Don’t let your University experience be a series of “what ifs” or “I wish I would have done that when I had the chance”. Be strong and confident, go for it! You can do it!
