I am sure many of you have heard the makeup term “baking”, but what exactly is it? Baking your face prevents your liquid foundation/concealer from creasing. This beauty hack will also enhance the highlights on your face. Baking is not something I would do everyday because it makes your makeup routine a little longer and it creates a more dramatic finish, but it is definitely a tip to try next time you go out and want to look flawless! Keep reading to find out how to “bake” your face!
Â
Step 1: Apply your foundation and concealer how you would normally. Contour your cheekbones, sides of your forehead, nose, and jawline. After you have done that, get out a translucent loose powder and any kind of makeup sponge. (I recommend the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder.)
Step 2: Pack the loose setting powder onto your sponge. Be generous with the amount of product you apply to your face; we will be blending it in later.
Step 3: Take your sponge and apply the powder right underneath the contour of your cheekbone. This will give the illusion of having extremely chiseled cheekbones and also clean up any fall out the contour color may have caused earlier. Pick up more powder on your sponge and apply the powder to your chin and center of your forehead. Lastly, dab the powder underneath your eyes to prevent your concealer from creasing in the fine lines.
Â
Step 4:Â Let the loose powder “bake” for 5 minutes. Once you have let the powder settle into your skin, lightly blend and remove excess product with a fluffy brush.
And that’s how you “bake” your face! Not too difficult, right? Make sure to try this beauty secret next time you go out!
