Last Minute Halloween Costumes For The Procrastinators

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

How is Halloween already this Saturday? Fear not collegiette.  If you’re anything like us, you probably procrastinate.  We’re here to give you 12 simple costume ideas you can pull together the night of. The majority of these costumes can be made with items you already own!

Mary Poppins

All you need for this one is a button up white shirt, black skirt, black umbrella, and black hat.  You can amp it up by adding a little red bow tie, black tights, and flowers on the hat!

Minnie Mouse

If you’ve ever gone to Disneyland, chances are you’ll own a pair of mouse ears. This costume is simple, needing only the ears, a red skirt, and a black shirt.  If its cold out you can always add cute polka dot tights underneath.

Regina George

This costume is so fetch. Simply put on your most colorful bra, stay true to the movie and use a purple, and a white tank top.  Cut out two little circles where your bra is and add a black tight skirt and heels.

Risky Business

This costume is a classic, and super easy. Throw on an oversized white button up shirt and ray ban glasses.  Don’t forget the tube socks!

Robber

Black, black, and more black! You’ll need black pants, a black hat, and black and white stripped shirt. To make it really believable you can make your own little black eye mask out of black eyeliner!

Ghost

Take that old white sheet you’ve been meaning to throw out and cut some eyeholes! Simple, funny, and it’ll keep you warm.

Rosie the Riveter

This is an iconic costume that also happens to be quick and easy! You’ll need a jean shirt, red bandana, and whatever pants you feel like wearing.

Baby

One of the warmest costumes on this list, all you’ll need is a onesie, you or one of  your friends probably has one in the drawers you never go through.  Pull your hair in pig tails and add some freckles.  You can amp it up by adding a pacifier if you feel so inclined.

Vampire

Another costume that only requires black clothes.  Wear whatever outfit you want, as long as it’s all black.  Add some pale makeup to your face and dark eye shadow under your eyes to look like you never sleep or see the sunlight.  You can find fangs at the dollar store to really amp up the costume and use some red lipstick trickling down your mouth to look like blood.

Cat

A costume that is timeless, pretty much every collegiate girl has dressed up as a cat for one costume party or another.  This quick costume only requires black clothes, a painted on nose and whiskers, and some cat ears.  If you don’t have any simply cut out two black triangles from paper and tape them to a headband.

Devil or Angel

Just as simple as the cat and a little more original.  For the devil: Throw on either an all red outfit or black pants and a red shirt.  Make your own devil horns by cutting them out of red paper and taping them to a headband. For the angel: any white dress you own will do! Make a little halo out of pipe cleaner.  Wings optional!

No Ragrats

This costume is sure to turn some heads and make people laugh.  Wear a pair of saggy jeans, a white wife beater, a black bandana on your head, and a fitted cap over it.  Have one of your friends draw the infamous “No Ragrats” tattoo on your chest or order one off amazon!

Have a safe and fun Halloween, ladies!

I have a deep love for mermaids, pitbulls, swearing, and all things involving food.  Shania Twain is my spirit animal and I'm a converted Belieber.
