When it was time for me to leave my small high school I wasn’t ready. Â I wanted the new experiences and to be able to chose what I was learning, but, I was scared of the thought of a big university. Â My graduating class was 100 people and the idea of going to a school the size of Logan, UT was incomprehendable. Â So instead I went to a small liberal arts college. Â A few weeks in and I felt like I already knew the school inside and out. Â I had friends that I passed on campus, I knew my teachers, and I knew people in my classes. Â I felt like a big fish in a small pond. The problem with a small pond is that you can’t move very much.

However, the main problem was that I didn’t feel like I belonged. Â Your college career should be about branching out, trying new things, and finding your path. I had friends that were in school and loved it so much they don’t want to graduate. Â I wanted that feeling and the new experiences. Â I transfered to the University of Utah so I could find my path. There are many advantages to the U. Â The U has greek life, a quidditch team, and even a ballet major. The opportunities at the U became apparent a week into my first semester. Â More classes and more people lead to more opportunities. If you are intimidated by the idea of the future, just remember that by going to a bigger Universtiy you get the oppurtunity to find your path.
