It is nearing the end of October, which means we are well into the autumn season! Autumn is my
favorite season of the year. The weather cools down, finally giving us a reprieve from the
scorching hot summer. Sweaters get busted out from our closets, and visiting local coffee shops
to try out fall drinks becomes part of the daily routine! Of course, transitioning into the Autumn
weather needs to come with the appropriate background music, so here are some of my favorite
artists (and their albums) that I like to listen to get into the Autumn spirit.
Taylor Swift
If you are a big Swiftie like me then you cannot go into the fall season without listening to one or
more of her albums. Or if you are anything like me, then you probably listen to her year-round.
You can never go wrong with Taylor Swift and some of her albums are more suited for the fall
season than others (in my opinion), specifically Red (Taylor’s Version) and Evermore. Some of
my favorites from both albums are:
Red (Taylor’s Version)
- Nothing New ft. Phoebe Bridgers
- Run ft. Ed Sheeran
- State Of Grace
Evermore
- Dorothea
- Tolerate It
- Champagne Problems
Laufey
I am fairly new to listening to Laufey and it saddens me to say it took me until this year to finally
start listening to her. Laufey is an Icelandic-Chinese singer who gained popularity in 2020. Her
genre of music differs from Taylor’s, while Taylor is more pop, Laufey’s music leans more
towards jazz. Her newest album, Bewitched, is the perfect album to listen to this fall season. The
slower tempos and dream-like ballads provide a breath of fresh air coming out of the summer
season when all the music releases were pop and danceable tunes. Bewitched is a great
transitional album from summer to fall. If you need a good album to listen to while preparing for
your autumn reset, then I recommend Laufey’s Bewitched. Some of my favorites from the album
are:
- Lovesick
- California And Me
- Second Best
Noah Kahan
You cannot go into the autumn season without listening to any of Noah Kahan’s music. His folk-
pop music immediately transports you into the middle of the woods where all the leaves have
turned a burnt orange and have fallen on the ground. Listening to his music automatically
reminds me of all things fall: sweaters, candles, and curling up in front of a fireplace with a good
book. I definitely recommend listening to his album Stick Season to really get into the fall mood,
some of my favorites include:
- Stick Season
- Call Your Mom
- Everywhere, Everything
Whether you are an autumn lover like me or someone who wishes that summer would last
forever, I can assure you that these albums will put you in the mood for chillier weather and the
changing of the leaves! So, grab your headphones and open whatever it is you listen to music on,
whether that be Spotify or Apple Music, press play on any of these artists, and just enjoy the long
autumn season.
