I think all of us can agree that your significant other is not the easiest person to buy gifts for, especially when you’ve been together for a while. We all tend to run out of cute ideas for homemade gifts, and we’re usually on a budget. To help alleviate the stress that is gift giving, here are inexpensive gift ideas for your honey this Valentine’s Day:
1.) Homemade Gift Baskets
For me, gift baskets are always a go-to gift idea for my friends and family. If there is a Dollar Tree near you, you can purchase wicker baskets or a small plastic bin to be the base of your gift. Fill the basket with his or her favorite candies and other items. You can even set a specific theme. For example, make a “Pampering Basket” with items like shaving cream, razors, shower gel, shampoo, soaps and other similar items found at the dollar store as well. This is a good way to let out your creative side!
2.) Dinner Date (At home)
Looking for a cute way to spice things up? Plan to have your place to yourself and invite him or her over for dinner. Set up a small table in your house and light some candles before cooking and serving him or her their favorite meal in a fancy restaurant atmosphere. Your significant other is guaranteed to love it!
3.) The Classic “Open When…” letters
If you’re looking for a more meaningful gift, I would suggest going with this option. Supplies are extremely inexpensive and can likely already be found around your own home. All you need is 10 to 20 envelopes, and paper and a pen of your choice. If you want to go the extra mile, cut the sheets of paper into hearts. Write letters for certain occasions or feelings he or she may experience, seal them into an envelope and title them at your choosing. For example, you can say “open when you miss me” or “open when you’re feeling down.” This is cute way of showing your significant other how much they mean to you and that you’re always thinking about them.
4.) Something Simply Sweet
You’ve probably seen a Pinterest post or two about this next one. Gather all of his or her favorite sweet and savory treats. Use cute stationary and ribbon to attach the caption to the treat. This is a good, yet silly and fun, way to show your significant other what you think about them.
5.) Jenga for Lovers
“Jenga for Lovers” is very similar to the Jenga party games we see going around the internet. This is a fun, inexpensive way to heat things up this Valentine’s Day. You can buy Jenga at your local Walmart for less than $10. Use a black Sharpie or other permanent marker to write things like “My favorite thing about you is…” or “I love you because…” on the Jenga blocks. You can even put small red or pink hearts on the blocks to make it look more detailed.
Now that you have a few ideas on how to spoil your lover for less this Valentine’s Day, it’s time to get crafting!
