Let’s start out by saying I did not have a hot girl summer, hence the title. Besides excessive hours of working this summer, when I did have free time it was at the lake with good friends or going to the best restaurants in Albany, NY or trying out new recipes. I figured getting into cooking again this summer was a good way in my attempt of “adulting.” I realized cooking is something I really enjoy and like sharing with people. Especially when everyone compliments your food which is a great feeling. My favorite dish I made this summer and the crowd favorite was strawberry salsa. I know it sounds like a weird mix, but I promise you’ll want to finish the entire bowl after the first bite. It’s sweet and refreshing with a little bit of a kick and super easy to make. So, without further ado here is my strawberry salsa recipe step by step.
Ingredients:
4 large tomatoes, chopped
Half a package of fresh strawberries
½ cup of chopped onion
2-3 jalapeno peppers finely chopped (who can put as many jalapenos, depending on how spicy you like it)
Half of a yellow pepper, chopped
¼ of lime juice
¼ of honey
4 garlic cloves finely chopped
1 tsp. chili powder
Throw everything together in one big bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour and serve with tortilla chips. This salsa is super easy to make, pretty to look at and even better to eat.
