It is becoming that point in the semester where everything seems stressful, no matter how big or small it is. Although it may seem like you will not pass that exam, or finish that paper on time, you will. There are many things you can do yourself to feel good going into the final weeks of your semester. Here are a few tips to help you feel prepared when getting ready to tackle those final assignments.
1. Plan out your weeks to come.
I find it really helpful to see when my assignments are due at the end of the semester. This allows me to see how much time should be spent working on each assignment, and which should be started first.
2. Do not procrastinate.
I highly recommend that you do not wait until the day before to start studying for an exam. From past experiences, I have to say that the information does not stick in your brain very well. Trying to cram in an entire semester’s worth of material will only do more harm than good.
3. Treat yourself
With all of the studying and hard work you are doing, you deserve to give yourself a break. Some days although it may seem like you should be in the library, you should take a few hours to yourself and relax. Watch some television, grab some ice cream, or go shopping. You deserve to treat yourself for all of your hard work.
4. Exercise A LOT
Exercising is a great way to relieve any stress that you may have. Personally, when I am really stressed out I like to go on a long distance run. This allows me to clear my mind of anything that is going on around me, especially during exams week. If you feel too stressed out in the moment, take a break from your work and go for a run, jog, or even a walk. Any little bit will help.
I know that finals week can be a lot to handle, but it does not have to be. With these few steps and a positive mindset, you can get through whatever finals week throws your way!
