“Home”

Where are you? I am lost, these aren’t my people

These people scowl when I say hello and cheer when I say goodbye

Home. your dust-filled corners and brightly painted walls

I miss you, your quiet Sunday mornings and hot cups of coffee

Home. your lemon pumpkin scent and crisp white doilies

Where am I? This place deserted of compassion and love

The greenscapes are brown and the sweet water sour

Home. your warm crackling fireplace flickering under the mantle

What happened to you? These people don’t know you

Don’t know your kind heart and loving smile

Home

I need you.

“Passion or Malice”

Love. such an ambiguous concept

What is love?

Hugging your parents tight after graduation?

Cooking dinner with your grandma on a warm summer night?

Watching TV with your best friend after school?

What is love?

Screaming so loudly your lungs burn from the lack of oxygen?

Crying so hard you think you will run out of tears?

Hitting, punching, smacking so hard you leave bruises?

Love. it’s not all sunshine and roses.

Sometimes it’s thorns and misery

“Final destination”

I’ve heard of a place, that no one ever seen

where flowers bloom and the sun always shines

A place where sadness is a memory.

and happiness is a melody.

Where loved ones reunite. and souls are at peace.

Some wonder if they will ever see it.

This final destination.

Impossible to describe

But glorious when seen

It goes on forever

And every second

Is better.

Then the one before.

Hi guys! My name is Brianna and I am a senior biology major with a creative writing minor at Utica College. I love to read and write and spend time outside, especially in the fall. I am planning to get my masters in adolescent education in order to teach biology. Spreading positive vibes to all my readers!
