As much as we love the cooler season and all the fun that winter brings, no amount of pumpkin spice lattes or Hallmark Christmas movies can make up for the dryness of the cold weather. Rough hands, brittle nails, and dull skin are no fun, but all it takes is some extra self-care to keep that summer glow going! Here are some things to add to your daily routine this winter:
Cuticle oil to the rescue!
Nail care is probably the most forgotten part of a self-care routine, but it’s especially important during dryer seasons. Cuticle oil can help your nails grow faster and stronger, as well as keep your nail beds moisturized and free from cracks or hangnails. Here’s a link to my favorite one from Sally Hansen.
Face masks (you knew it was coming)
I’m not talking about a basic clay mask. During the winter, overnight deep moisture is your best friend! Overnight masks allow your skin to soak in essential ceramides and hydration so that it can better hold moisture during the day. I recommend the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask because it works for all skin types and doesn’t dry sticky, so it’s comfortable to sleep in.
Your new favorite hand and foot creams
Sometimes the Bath and Body Works lotions just don’t cut it, and you need something a little more long-lasting. Try the O’Keefe’s Working Hands and Healthy Feet deep moisture creams. Although they may not smell like Sweet Pea or Japanese Cherry Blossoms, these are hands down the best moisturizers I’ve ever tried. I promise they’ll become a staple not only during the cold weather but year-round!
