We all fall into the trap of ordering the same meal, at the same restaurant, every time we go out to eat with friends. While we crave the satisfaction of ordering our favorite foodie options, a little change never killed nobody. Check out some of these suggestions for the next time you feel like adding some (moderate) ~spice~ into your life!
1. The Cleo salad from Bodo’s
Bodo’s means bagels, right? For a long time I was a die hard “only-order-bagels-from-Bodo’s” advocate, and then on a whim, I ordered the Cleo salad. This is probably one of the best salads you will ever taste for under $5.00. No lie. While Bodo’s will always be my go-to for bagels, it has found a new place in my stomach for when the line at Roots is, to put it simply, outrageous for just a salad.

2. Chicken or Tofu Bowl from Poke Sushi Bowl
Another unexpected find, but the Chicken or Tofu bowl from Poke Sushi bowl is actually really good! Especially if you are not a fan of raw fish, or have had sushi too many times a week already and don’t dare to test your chances on mercury poisoning. Healthy, tasty, and usually without a line–what’s not to look forward to about checking out Poke on the Corner?
3. Eggs in Avocado from Fig
This dish is a vegetarian take on eggs benedict that is surprisingly satisfying. It’s similar to the Pigeon Hole’s California Brunch bennie sans english muffin. It is a healthy alternative for the adventurer looking to switch up brunch orders.

4. Grilled Cheese from Take It Away
Again, why go someplace famous for their make-your-own menu and not make the sandwich of your dreams? Probably because this grilled cheese will inspire new dreams. Made with pimento cheese, this sandwich is full of extra cheesy, gooey, goodness, and I’m pretty sure comes with a half cup of soup.
5. Gyro from College Inn
When you feel like something else besides all of your usual munchin’ spots, head over to the College Inn. Gyros are the perfect food for when you’re craving something different. Once you have your gyros in hand, head over to the Lawn to eat and have great conversation with friends about the correct pronunciation of ‘gyro.’
6. Coupe’s
Yeah, I know–you can get food at Coupe’s? The answer is a beautiful yes and their menu is decorated with so many enticing options. Now that the weather is nice, check out Coupe’s dining before the end of the semester! I especially recommend the foot long grilled cheese (yes, you heard that right) with sweet potato fries.
