Halloweekend is a great time to dress up as someone else for a change and show off a bit of your creativity. But beyond seeing what your friends dress up as, one of the other best parts of Halloweekend is seeing all the wild celebrity costumes. They may have an unfair advantage over the rest of us (wouldn’t we all look that great if we had hair and wardrobe stylists on hand AND endless funds to help us create the perfect outfit??), but it’s still always fun to see what they come up with. This year, from Instagram posts to A-list Halloween parties, the recurrent theme among our favorite iconic celebs was dressing up as OTHER iconic celebrities. Go through these legendary costumes to relive the best holiday of the year, or just feel ashamed at your lack of Halloween game.

1. Kim Kardashian West as Cher

Kim K had quite the weekend dressing up as some of her favorite industry icons, but this costume really takes the cake. Kim’s outfit is almost identical to the one Cher wore to the Academy Awards in 1973, and the costume is helped by Kim’s natural resemblance to Cher. Her pal Jonathan Cheban looks pretty good too, filling out the ensemble as Sonny.

2. Demi Lovato as Selena

Demi Lovato takes on Tejano musical legend Selena Quintanilla with an incredible bell-bottom jumpsuit and long wig. Showing off her outfit, hair and makeup on Snapchat cemented Lovato’s resemblance and dedication to this iconic costume.

3. Karlie Kloss as Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe is a Halloween classic and Kloss definitely has the outfit down, but it’s the perfect pose with the iconic white dress blowing in the wind that really takes the cake.

4. Ellie Goulding as Dolly Parton

Goulding chose to pay homage to Dolly Parton this Halloweekend. She definitely nailed the look, from the big hair to the classic outfit. Goulding is almost unrecognizable as she transforms into Dolly Parton.

5. Kourtney Kardashian as Michael Jackson

Though Halloween costumes are generally an excuse to break down gender boundaries, Michael Jackson – the king of pop himself – remains a bold costume choice. This one probably takes the cake as the most daring (and impressive) tribute costume of this Halloweekend, but Kourtney definitely pulled it off.
