The Last Two Weeks of Fourth Year, As Told By Cats

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UVA chapter.

With each passing day, it becomes harder and harder to live in denial of my impending graduation. Realistically, I am going to continue to be in denial until I don my cap and gown on the morning of May 19th. But, still, I find the nostalgia creeping in anytime I drive past dorms or walk by students sprawled out on the Lawn on a sunny afternoon.

I am sure these next two weeks before finals are going to be filled with wistful walks to class, procrastination, afternoon lunches outside at Boylan, late nights dancing on Trin 3, excursions to the Downtown Mall, and lots and lots of tears. I am pretty much constantly fluctuating between that cheesy cliché of crying because it’s over and smiling because it happened. Basically, it’s just a lot of emotions.

So, for any other fourth years trying desperately to scheme your way into a fifth year, or for those of you lucky first years who have your whole collegiate lives ahead of you, please enjoy the following breakdown of my emotions about my last two weeks at UVA, as told by cat GIFs.

When you’ve been spending too many weeknights out, and you can barely hold your head up in your 11 am class:

When your mom calls you for the millionth time to ask how your job search is going:

When you decide to hit the gym for the first time since second year because you’ve finally confirmed your tropical post-grad travel plans:(GIF courtesy of giphy.com)

When you shower your roommates with extra love because you’re just really going to miss having your best friends living ten feet away from you:(GIF courtesy of giphy.com)
