Playlist For the Ultimate Study Session

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UVA chapter.

Summer is within our grasp, but before you can enjoy soaking up some rays on the beach there is one more obstacle, finals. It’s time to crack down on studying for your exams, but with the end so close it may be difficult to get into “study-mode”. At this point you’re probably feeling daunted by how boring your life is going to be with all the studying you have to do. No one enjoys studying, but there are ways to make it more enjoyable and more effective. It is a misconception that students can recall information better when they study without music. Songs without lyrics, like classical music (which enhances short-term memory), will not interfere with your ability to comprehend or retain what you have read. Here is a compilation of songs from various genres that will let you have the ultimate study session:

1. A Story of Boy Meets Girl-Mychael Danna & Rob Simonsen

2. Paradise-Vitamin String Quartet

3. Naval– Yann Tiersen

4. Californication– Vitamin String Quartet

5. Dawn– Dario Marianelli

6. Intro– The xx

7. Born– MitiS

8. The A-Team– Vitamin String Quartet

9. Comptine d’un autre été: L’après-midi– Yann Tiersen

10. Crickets (Instrumental)– Drop City Yacht Club

11. Summer Time Sadness– Vitamin String Quartet

12. Heart Skipped a Beat– The xx

13. Four Seasons (Winter)– Vivaldi

14. Sur le fil– Yann Tiersen

15. Thugz Mansion (Nas remix)– The String Quartet Tribute to Tupac

16. Tonight (Cutline remix)– Danny Byrd feat. Netsky

17. Afterglow (Akira Kiteshi remix)– Phaeleh

18. Still Alive– Mt Eden

19. Intro– M83 feat. Zola Jesus
