With Oktoberfest officially coming to an end, us students of UW-L are forced to try to put our lives back together. The days are becoming longer, the stress is becoming unbearable, and suddenly you are reminded exactly what you did not miss about school. Even though all Summer you couldn’t wait to be back in La Crosse, you are reminded why exactly you did not miss these things:
Â
Having to fend for yourself
Mom and dad are no longer there to make you every meal. We are forced to learn how to cook for ourselves, and lets be honest–if it takes more than 5 minutes, do we really want it that bad?
Â
What is exercise?
No matter how in shape we thought we were, those Centennial stairs make us question otherwise. Maybe we didn’t work that hard on our “summer bods.”
Â
Does the Financial Aid Office accept tears as a valid form of payment?
Not to damper anyone’s mood but October is here and we are going to have to pay our tuition bills soon. All that money we made this Summer is now gone and we are left stressed and depressed.
Â
Sundays
An adult’s Sunday is spent relaxing and dreading work. A college student’s Sunday is forced with a sleepless night doing the endless amounts of homework we have and trying to recoup from the weekend.
Â
It will be Thanksgiving and then Christmas break before we know it. Don’t let today’s stresses get in your way of having the best year yet. Welcome back to college, lax.
