With the weather getting colder by the day, you may be tempted to lock yourself inside and stay in your warm pajamas all day. But don’t let the cold weather scare you away from staying fit this winter! Here are some easy to tips to staying fit in the winter.
If you plan on bearing the cold and running outside….
1) Make sure you thoroughly warm up to avoid injuries that are more likely to occur in the cold.
2) Layer up! Make sure to wear the appropriate amount of clothes if you plan to run outside.
3) Take advantage of winter sports. Try ice skating, cross country skiing, or snowshoeing.
If you plan on going to the gym during the winter…
1) Join a new class that your gym offers.
2) Participate in indoor sports at a gym.
3) Find a workout buddy that will hold you accountable to go to the gym.
If you really don’t wanna leave your house…
1) Do a stair workout!
2) Buy some home workout DVD’s.
3) Download a workout app that provides at home workouts.
Winter doesn’t need to be an excuse for not staying fit!
