If you want to learn more about Jeffree Star and the beauty industry, I recomend watching Shane Dawson’s new documentary “The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star”. There are only 2 parts uploaded right now at the time of writing this and I know there is more coming, so I will another review for those later.
The first part shows Shane getting ready and going out to join Jeffree at a meet and greet. Shane and Ryland get in a fight which I have never seen before. They make up of course, and then Shane leaves to get on a private plane. He is nervous while on the plane with Jeffree but luckily nothing bad happens to our favorite youtuber. The meet and greet is a success, and Shane returns home to Ryland. That’s basically it.
The second part is way more interesting. Shane and Andrew go to meet up with Jeffree at his new office to talk about business. Shane and Jeffree talk about doing a makeup collaboration which Shane has never done before so there is alot of explaining of how to do an eyeshadow palette correctly. They also discuss merch which I must say looks great from what I’ve seen so far! Shane gets emotional of the thought of being judged and has a breakdown in a pink bathroom. Sad but ironic. Jeffree comforts him but also tells him he needs to have thick skin in this industry. They briefly talk about some drama with nikkietutorials but it’s quick and I barely remembered it.
Overal the documentary seems good so far, I prefered part 2 over part 1 but that’s just my opinion. I hope in the next episodes we will learn more about the drama and what happened since that is what I am most interested about.Â
Jeffree acts like an older sibling to Shane, guiding him through the beauty industry while also being his bestfriend (no offense Garrett or Andrew). While Jeffree has done some really bad things in the past, he is portrayed positively here. That’s expected since Shane and him are friends. You wouldn’t shit talk your friend when you are working with them.Â
I’m excited for the next parts, hopefully I will have enough time to actually watch them during the week.
If you like drama and makeup, watch this documentary!
