Are you looking for a fun, inexpensive, and easy way to make decorations for your dorm? Use these different paint chip ideas to add a bit of flair to your room!
Wreath
Â
Â
Materials: Â
- 60 paint chips
- Scissors Â
- Glue gun Â
- 18” wire wreath frame
*Make sure to choose paint chips in the same color family with varying tones so that the hues blend to create an ombre effect*
Â
Â
Directions:
- Fold a paint chip in half lengthwise.
- Cut out a leaf shape freehand using scissors. (If you’re not steady with the scissors, you can create a template and trace the leaf shape onto each folded paint chip.) Repeat with the remaining paint chips.
- Starting with the lightest hue, hot glue the leaves, three at a time, to the wire frame to cover the width of the wreath evenly. (Don’t fuss over exact positioning – the wreath will look most natural if it’s imperfect.)
- Glue and place the next set of leaves so their tips are slightly overlapping the previous row. Repeat with the other paint chips, gradually transitioning from light to dark shades and then back to light until desired fullness is reached.

- Print the letter and font of your choice, which fills the page, on cardstock.
- Cut out the letter and line up the paint chips so that you can trace the letter on them.
