Â
HC: Which fraternity/sorority are you representing?
JG: Gamma Sigma Sigma
HC: Aside from the Greek community what are you involved with on campus?
JG: Voc Rehab Club
HC: Why did you choose to run for Miss Greek Week?
JG: I ran for Miss Greek Week because I feel as if I am a strong leader and a good representative of Gamma Sigma Sigma. I want to show the campus and Greek community what I am about. My candidacy is for self-acceptance, friendship, and leadership.
HC: Why should you win Miss Greek Week?
JG: I should win Miss Greek Week because I do not let my alopecia areata dictate my life or hold me back from putting myself out there. By winning Miss Greek Week, I would show everyone on campus that regardless what your downfall in life is, you can overcome your fears and accomplish your goals.
HC: What’s your favorite part of Greek Week?
JG: My favorite part of Greek Week is the Greek Olympics. I think it is great to see all of the different Greek organizations coming together for a friendly competition filled with silly games. I love seeing the joy on everyone’s faces as they are participating and the support from the others who are there to cheer them on.
HC: What’s your life motto?
JG: My life motto is “free to be me.” Living in a society filled with stereotypes and judgements, it is important to live your life the way you want to live it and not worry about what others think. I think instead of people judging and rejecting others based on their differences, that we should accept their creativity and style. This is America, the land of the free; free to be me.
HC: Anything else you want to add?
JG: I have two rats here with me at school named Lewis and Clark.
