Podcasts are my new latest obsession. I like to have them on when walking to class, or driving to work. Below I’ve listed some of my favorites, and would love if you would take a listen! Podcasts can be listened to using the Apple podcast, Google Play, SoundCloud, and even Spotify!
1.Guys We F***ed
The name itself should be enough to intrigue you! Created by two female comedians, it is a funny, honest, and sometimes heartbreaking podcast that takes a look at sex. It has been dubbed the “Anti-Slut Shaming Podcast”- but they talk about a lot more then sex. They cover sexuality, feminism, rape, abuse, race, and so much more. Each week they have a new guest- guest have ranged from famous comedians, trans men and women, porn stars, and yes, even guys they f***ed. Guys We F***ed is currently touring and have a book set to release in October. Anyone, no matter gender or age could learn a lot from listening to this podcast. Give it a chance!
2. NPR Politics
The NPR Politics Podcast is where NPR’s political reporters talk to you like they talk to each other. With weekly roundups and quick takes on news of the day, you don’t have to keep up with politics to know what’s happening. You just have to keep up with them.
3. Serial
If you haven’t heard of Serial, where have you been?? Serial started the wave of true crime podcasts, and remains the most popular. Each season the host looks into a case, and goes through it week by week. Season 1 is by far the most popular- and once you start listening its hard to turn off.
4. How I Built This
How I Built This is a NPR podcast about innovators, entrepreneurs, and idealists, and the stories behind the movements they built. Interesting and motivational, it is a great listen for us college students. Guest on it include the founders of Airbnb, Spanx, and Zappos.
5. Millennial Each episode of Millennial takes a look at the previous week’s news- stories that made headlines and a lot of important ones that didn’t. Each episode is a mix of serious and fun, as seen through the filter of four Millennials with very different tastes, perspectives and areas of expertise. Each episode covers so many topics, and the hosts are honest and hilarious, making this a fun and educational listen.
6. Coffee with Crachel
A recent discovery of mine. Rachel and Chris are two twenty-something who live in Seattle, love coffee, and have two 2 adorable cats. The podcast is a lot lighter then all the other ones listed above, and focused just on them chatting about news, life, and their cats. Casual and an easy listen, it makes for a great break from the heavier parts of life.
