VOLLEYBALL
The University of Wisconsin-Stout volleyball team traveled to Whitewater this past weekend where they added four more unfortunate losses to their record. But what these scores do not say though is how well the volleyball team played Friday and Saturday.
Despite the fact that three of the fours teams were nationally ranked, UW-Stout still gave them a challenge
One of the highlights of the weekend was their game on Saturday against the University of Chicago. They certainly showed an impressive amount of perseverance against this No. 11 team. Stout was down two sets but in the third set they kicked it into gear and won it 26-25. The team used this momentum to win the forth set, but it was the fifth set that held the Blue Devils’ fate. However, Stout fell to Chicago 15-13 in the last set and lost the match 3-2.
Overall, the ladies had some fantastic performances individually. Ashley Pratt led the team with 15 kills; Carly Troudt and Kennedy Strain followed close behind with 12 and 10 kills respectively.Â

SOCCER
The women’s soccer team was able to take home a win against University of Wisconsin- Platteville on Saturday afternoon. Despite the long bus ride, Stout took it to the Pioneers right away in the first half by scoring just twenty minutes into the game.
Freshman forward Sydney Kasper tallied two more goals, each in a different half, with received assists from teammates Addy Maher and Rosie Anderson. Kelly Conn scored the Blue Devil’s second goal in the first half off of Lindsey Concon’s nicely executed slot pass through the defenders.
Platteville responded to these three goals with a header goal in the 78th minute off of a free kick in the Blue Devil’s defensive third, denying Stout their sixth shutout of the season.
The Blue Devils are now 2-0 in the conference. This coming week will be a test for the lady Blue Devils as they take on rivals University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Wednesday and University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Saturday.

The soccer team will host the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Unlike most of their games, this one has a theme: U.S.A. So be sure to sport your patriotic pride when attending! The volleyball team will also be traveling to La Crosse Wednesday for a conference game.Â
And don’t forget about Saturday’s Homecoming game at 2 p.m.! Be sure to come out and show support for these Blue Devils as they take on the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The Blue Devils offense has been doing great this season, so it should be an interesting game to see!Â
Not into football? The soccer team will also be hosting a Homecoming game of their own as they also face University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at 2 p.m.Â
