Delicious Autumn Cocktails

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWindsor chapter.

Beer in red solo cups is fun, but it’s nice to treat yourself and your friends to something fancier. Here are several fall-themed cocktails you can make whether you’re feeling elaborate or simple. Enjoy!

1)      Caramel Apple Mimosas

Directions:

1)      In a small dish, pour 2 tbsp. caramel sauce. In another dish, pour 2 tbsp. cinnamon sugar. Dip champagne flutes into caramel to rim glass, then dip in cinnamon sugar.

2)      Pour 1 cup apple cider, 8 oz. caramel vodka, and top with champagne into flutes.

3)      Garnish with an apple slice and serve.

2)      Cranberry Sauce Margarita

Directions:

1)      Rim a margarita glass with brown sugar.

2)      Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, 2 oz. tequila, the juice of one lime, 1 – ½ tbsp. chunky cranberry sauce, and 1 tsp. honey.

3)      Shake, then strain mixture into glass.

4)      Option: add some fresh or frozen cranberries.

3)      Leftover Pecan Pie Bourbon Shake

Directions:

1)      In a blender, combine 3 scoops vanilla ice cream, ½ cup milk, 2 oz. bourbon, and ½ cup chopped pecan pie.

2)      Blend until desired consistency. Add more milk if mixture is too thick, add more ice cream if it is too thin.

3)      Pour into a glass and garnish with more pecan pie.

4)      Crown Royal and Ginger

Directions:

1)      Add 1 oz. Crown Royal Deluxe and 3 oz. ginger ale to an ice-filled glass.

2)      Garnish with a lime wedge.

5)      Cinnamon Toast

Directions:

1)      Rim a glass with sugar and cinnamon.

2)      Add 6 oz. hot apple cider and 1 ¼ oz. Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum to a glass.

6)      Candy Corn Martini

Directions:

1)      Make the candy corn vodka first: add 1/3 cup candy corn to 1 cup plain or vanilla vodka. Refrigerate for 3 hours. Once refrigerated, pour through a strainer and discard the solids.

2)      Add a handful of ice to a martini shaker. Add the vodka, 3 oz. pineapple juice, 2 oz. ginger ale, and 1 oz. butterscotch schnapps. Cover and shake well. Pour into 2 martini glasses. Add more candy corn to the bottom of each glass.
