Ever since I bought my car, I have become a more judgemental person. I don’t judge people based on their race, sexuality, religion, or any other aspect of their intersectionality; I have now begun to notice annoying driving habits people have that I was blinded to when I wasn’t a driver. In my short time of owning a car, I have seen so much that has shocked me. And my friends have also had some interesting experiences.

A few months ago, I was waiting at the lights on University and McDougall. There was one car in front of me. The light turned green, and he still wasn’t moving. I assumed maybe he wasn’t paying attention because it was so early in the morning, so I gave a friendly double-honk. He continued to sit there and I had no way to get around him. When the light turned yellow, he stuck his hand out of the driver’s window, flipped me off, and sped away. The light turned red before I could go.

Three weeks ago, I was driving down Tecumseh Road. On the corner of Tecumseh and Langlois, I had to stop my car abruptly. In front of me was a baby stroller in the street with an actual, real life, human baby.

I was on the corner of Wyandotte and Walker Road, turning left to go near the Via Rail train station. I had an advanced arrow green and proceeded to turn. Opposite of me, a motorcyclist decided to try to get ahead of me and make a right turn for himself even though I had the right of way. I stopped to let him go as he cut me off, but instead he stopped in front of my car and began screaming at me, not moving. More than ten seconds had passed and he was screaming his lungs out at me, blocking my way so I couldn’t go as cars behind me honked at me to go. It was one of the most stressful moments of my life.

I was driving down E.C. Row when a car was coming TOWARDS me. They had entered the wrong ramp on the highway and were very intoxicated.

I was on the corner of Glengary and Wyandotte turning left, when a car on Wyandotte turned right into my car. Glengary is a one way.
