What it Was Like Meeting the Cast of To All The Boys: Always & Forever

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWindsor chapter.

Have you ever wanted to be face-to-face with your favourite movie or TV cast? On Friday February 12th, five of our Her Campus Chapter Members (including myself, obviously) had the opportunity to attend a virtual meet and greet sponsored by Her Campus and Touchwood Public Relations featuring the cast of Netflix’s latest romance film To All The Boys: Always and Forever. The movie launched on Netflix’s streaming service on February 12th. To All The Boys: Always and Forever is the third and final installment of the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before movie franchise, a film adaptation of the book series of the same name written by Jenny Han. This film follows Lara Jean (played by Lana Condor) and Peter (played by Noah Centineo) as they navigate their senior year. From prom, to senior year trips, to getting into college, Lara Jean begins to consider her future, and whether or not Peter will be in it. As mentioned above, it’s now available to watch on Netflix, so if you haven’t watched it yet, I will now warn you that there may be spoilers ahead!

The Meet and Greet featured the two leads, Noah Centineo and Lana Condor, along with 200 other Her Campus members from chapters across Canada. Members had the opportunity to chat with the cast and ask them three questions during the 30 minute call. When asked what some of their favourite scenes from the three films were, Lana responded that “the contract scene in the first movie is like so true and pure, and in the third movie I love when Lara Jean comes back from Korea and she is watching a movie with Peter and they’re like cuddling. That felt very sweet to me.” Noah also discussed his favourite scene, which was the Cupcake store scene in the third movie, and took place when Peter and Lara Jean went on their senior trip to New York. He said, “It was a really cool moment for both of us (referring to Lana) I think. You were so afraid, and then it resolved nicely. You almost think they were going to get into a huge fight.”

One of the attendees of the event asked if the two believed that Lara Jean and Peter would stay together, to which Lana responded that she believes the two WOULD NOT stay together through college. “I see Lara Jean as an author or a journalist or an editor and I see her working in literature in some form and I see her just being a boss, and then, running into Peter like randomly in the streets of New York. I feel like they tried to make it work in college but then they had to grow apart. So I think they would reunite in their 30s and then I believe that they would live happily ever after.” As for Peter, Noah believed that he would remain at Stanford and play lacrosse, and then later pursue a career as a history teacher or somewhere within the history field. He also agreed with Lana that the two would end up together regardless if they stayed together through college or not because “I mean, it’s To All The Boys, how can they not end up together?”

The final question asked was what was it like on the last day of shooting. Lana stated that she was “kind of in denial that shooting was ending and I avoided [Noah] throughout the day.” She continued answering this same question in a longer interview with Entertainment Tonight where she stated, “I didn’t want to look at him, I didn’t want to talk to him because I just didn’t want shooting to end!”

The HC UWindsor ladies who attended absolutely loved the event, so to get more of a perspective, I provided a few of their reactions.

“I keep saying it was absolutely surreal. When being offered the opportunity to go I was so excited, yet nervous because none of us had any idea who it could be. It could’ve been like 5 extras. But upon getting on the call I could not stop freaking out! Lana is absolutely adorable and Noah is the cutest thing! It was an absolutely amazing experience and definitely the best thing to happen since covid began.” – Mya Bezaire

“Going into this meet and greet, I was feeling nervous because this was my first meet and greet over zoom. However, from the second that the host let me into the meeting until the last moment, I was overwhelmed by the welcoming atmosphere. Fans from all across Canada and the United States were all sharing their love for the new TATB movie and it was a moment that I will never forget.  Being on the same call as Noah Centineo and Lana Condor was a surreal feeling. Hearing their gratitude to the fans, being able to hear their answers to fan questions, and taking a group photo together were all key moments. I am really grateful to the HC team for inviting select members to attend and for giving us this opportunity.” – Fatima Nadeem

“Not only were Lana and Noah the sweetest celebrities I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, they were also so real. They had relatable conversations with those who were able to speak, and they spoke of their characters, Lara Jean and Peter, as if they were real too! It was as if we were in person and not separated by screens.” – Serafina Piasentin

I would once again like to give a big thank you on behalf of all of the HC UWindsor members to everyone involved in coordinating the event. Specifically everyone at Her Campus and Touchwood Public Relations for putting the event together, our host Mike for being an awesome host and getting everyone excited, as well as Lana and Noah for taking the time out of their busy press schedule to chat with everyone! It was truly a virtual event to remember!
