We are now an entire month into 2018 and let’s be real with ourselves….we have already given up on our New Year’s Resolutions. I am doing the best I can to hold onto mine and have created a list of things to do to help you out. Even if your resolution has already been debunked, use this list of mini resolutions to keep you in check all year.

Make Time for Yourself
It is always important to make time for yourself during the week. You may get caught up in school and work and lose track of time during the entire week which is why it is so important to make time for yourself. Taking time for yourself can mean something as small as watching your favorite TV show or can go all the way to a shopping spree. This is the best way to reconnect with yourself!
Exercise
This can be the best part of your week or the most dreadful. Exercise is something that is not everyone’s cup to tea but can be very beneficial for the mind and body. Losing weight is tough for everyone but you must start somewhere. Whether you start out working out every day or only 30 minutes a week, it is important to get your blood running! Â
Spend Time with a Good Friend
Did someone say brunch…? I love being able to take time out of my week to hang out with my friends. Unfortunately, this isn’t always possible. We spend so much time in classes surrounded by people or at work dealing with other people that often we just want to go home and be alone. A good goal to keep is to make sure you catch up with a friend. Whether it’s a quick coffee or going out to eat or even catching a movie. Having someone there to vent to about all your problems is always needed….seeing that person every week guarantees you can maintain this friendship forever.
Read/Listen to a Podcast
Recently I have found my love for podcasts. This is a great way to listen to stories, news, mystery, crime, comedy, you name it…it has a podcast! This is the perfect way to move on from your same old Spotify playlists that you listen to on repeat for hours. Find a subject you like and run with it. Podcasts are a perfect way of occupying your free time or you can listen while you tidy up the house or drive to work.
As for books, I have never been the most avid reader but almost everyone in my family is. Being able to dive into another world and put yourself inside of a story truly amazes me. Take time out of your day or week to emerge yourself into the endless wonders of a book!

Take a Bath
For years, I thought baths were weird…to me they’re for little kids who couldn’t shower themselves. Boy, was I WRONG. I have recently fallen in love with taking a nice hot bath. Finding the perfect bath bomb or bubble bath soap and getting into the tub to forget about nothing for an hour, yes please! Throwing on the most relaxing playlist, lighting my favorite candle and sitting in the tub is the perfect way to unwind. Make it a goal to take a bath at least once a week.
Stay up to Date with News
Many people don’t know what is happening in the world! Whether it is news or celebrity news, we have the accessibility at our fingertips and do not use it to our advantage. I truly believe a good goal for everyone would be to feel more educated about your surroundings. Start from your local news and you can eventually move up to national news. Get news updates on your phone, listen to NPR in the mornings, watch the news before you go to bed. Simple steps like this will lead you to be more educated and feel more a part of the world we live in.
Don’t Procrastinate
Easily one of the hardest things on this list to actually follow. I don’t know about you but I am the QUEEN of procrastination. My goal of 2018 to was to leave procrastinating behind (wishful thinking, I know). Instead of waiting till Sunday to get all your homework done before 11:59 pm try to do little bits at a time throughout the week. Not only will this make more time for mimosas on Sunday but will also make you feel relieved and less stressed through the whole semester.
