It can be hard for some ladies to admit that the person they have in their life isn’t that great, but sometimes we have to suck it up and accept that we’re wrong, and that this person is a toxic jerk. Ladies, I know a lot of us are out here searching for love in a lot of the wrong places, but please don’t ignore the red flags. This list doesn’t just go for significant others but also friends and parents as well if they’re doing any of the following. It’s 2019, you have to keep positivity in your life.

1. They don’t value your time.

I know you’re busy, but everyone is busy. This is college. A lot of jerk people don’t value other people’s time.

Does your friend often discourage what you’re doing, even if it’s important, to do something they want to do? Do they make plans with you just to cancel at the last minute? Do they ask you to do something, then cancel after you’ve made preparations?

If you answered yes to any of the following questions, that person does not value your time.

2. They don’t value your opinions/feelings.

Do they argue with you often over trivial things? Do they minimize your concerns? Do they ridicule you for showing vulnerability?

If you answered yes to any of the following, that person has some toxic behaviors.

3. They get defensive when you try to confront their behavior.

Do they try to point out your flaws when you confront them about toxic behavior? Do they shut down or give you the silent treatment during arguments?

TOXIC!

4. They only speak to you when it’s something that affects them.

Do they ignore your attempts at communication and only reach out when they need something? Do they ask for favors often and never repay?

This person is pretty selfish.

5. They lie to you for no reason.

If your friend lies to you for no reason, then they probably shouldn’t be your friend.

Any one of these traits is redeemable by itself, but if you have someone in your life that exhibits all of these traits…you need to run for the hills, sis.
