Of course we love movies for entertainment, but every now and then we’re lucky enough to get a little inspiration. Today we’re wearing crop tops, Mary Janes, acid washed jeans, and little black dresses. We have to give credit where it’s due. Check out these seven iconic fashion movies!
1. Breakfast at Tiffany’sÂ
Not only do we love Audrey Hepburn because of her grace, elegance, and famous life quotes, but because she introduced everyone to the classic little black dress in the 1961 classic, Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
2. Poetic Justice
The 1993 film, Poetic Justce is a prime example of how fashion always comes back around. Everything from Janet Jackson’s crop top, acid wash jeans and combat boots can be found in almost any hipster girl’s closet today. Not to mention those trendy box braids that can be found on the heads of Beyonce and Christina Millian.

3. The Great Gatsby
Who doesn’t love a little timeless fashion? The movie based on the 1925 novel The Great Gatsby is an all-time favorite when it comes to costume themed parties. Probably because every scene is a fashion show!
4. Sex and The City
We love all things Sex and The City for every fashion moment Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda have ever given!
5. Grease
Sandy’s tranformation from good girl to sultry pin-up in Grease is definitely in our top three reasons why all black is always acceptable.
6. The Devil Wears Prada
The Devil Wears Prada is the only movie on the list whose plot centers around fashion. We loved watching Anne Hathaway’s character go from shabby geek to runway chic as an assistant to a notable fashion magazine editor.Â
7. Clueless
Cher basically embodied the term fashionista in the 1995 film, Clueless, making every girl pine for a wardrobe full of thigh high tights and plaid skirt suits.
