7 Things to Remember Your Senior Year of College

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.

It’s finally here! Senior year may have felt like it would never come, but rest assured that light at the end of the tunnel leads to graduation. Just like every year, this too will go by extremely fast, but before it’s over we have 7 things you need to keep in mind during your senior year of college.

1. How’s that job hunt going?

This is actually something you should’ve started earlier, but grind time is upon you and graduation will be here before you know it so apply, apply, apply and don’t forget to follow up. Internships are a great idea if you have time and always draws attention to your resume. While you’re at it, clean up all your social media accounts or make them private because potential employers are always looking.

2. Meet with your advisor as soon as possible

We can’t imagine anything worse than thinking your graduation is a couple of months away when that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s ultimately your responsibility to make sure you’re on track to walk across the stage.

3. Network whenever and wherever you can

You’ve probably met some really great connects throughout college. The people that share your major and looking to be in the same career field are especially important. Who knows…you may be sitting beside your future employer.

4. You have to grow up sometime

Now is the time to start blossoming into the person you really want to become whether that’s being more responsible, positive, or organized. Your young and carefree adult days are numbered.

 5. Some if not every form of your social media will change

Your social media accounts will slowly start to fill up with engagements and pregnancy announcements, but it’s totally fine for you not to be there yet. These are the best selfish years you’ll have. Take advantage of them.

6. If college has taught you one thing it should’ve been how to budget

You may never have to read another syllabus again, but torture comes in many forms. For example; bills!

7. Make memories and enjoy your senior year

Yes, this is the ending of a chapter, but the best is yet to come!
