You can catch this week’s Campus Celebrity at a Collegiate Men event, at the rec, or on the yard with the rest of Kappa Alpha Psi. Meet Bev Williams!
Name: Bevon ‘Bev’Â Williams
Age: 23
Classification: Senior
Major: Accounting
Hometown: Decatur, GA
HC: How did you end up here at VSU?Â
BW: Well, I was originally interested in the two year Engineering program here. I wanted to be an Aerospace Engineer but learned it wasn’t for me. Also, the distance from my home was a plus, because after being in Metro Atlanta for so long you need a change in scenery.
HC: What’s your dream career and what motivated you to want to pursue it?
BW: My dream job would be to create a yearly Music Festival for Underground and upcoming music artists to be held in Atlanta’s Centennial Park.  I was really inspired to do this through listening to different indie artists in my spare time. There are a lot of artist who aren’t mainstream, who deserve a lot more shine than they are given. My favorite artists would have to be Mick Jenkins, Boogie, Key!, and Playboi Carti.
HC: What do you consider your biggest accomplishment?
BW: Outside of becoming a member of the greatest Fraternity known to man, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., I would say my biggest accomplishment was getting the opportunity to study abroad in Turkey this past summer. I received a scholarship to help fund the experience, so shout out LCOBA (laughs). The trip was definitely an eye-opening experience. Their culture is so different from ours and I love it; and when in the world am I ever going to get the chance to travel to the middle East again! Also, becoming the president of the Collegiate Men of VSU.Â
HC: Tell us a random, fun fact about yourself.Â
BW: I love Grape Powerade and Gummi Bears.
HC: What is your favorite quote?
BW: “Just Be Cool” by Dom Kennedy
HC: If you could choose a celebrity to play in your biopic, who would you choose & why?
BW: I really have no idea, maybe Ghost from Power because he works well under pressure, just like me.
HC: What do you like to do in your spare time?
BW: Go to the gym, read, listen to music, and just vibe with the homies.
HC: Use three words to describe yourself.Â
BW: Honest, loyal, and creative.
HC: If you could go back in time, what advice would you give to your freshman self?
BW: Go to class, even if you go to a party the night before. Freshman year is meant for you to turn up so live it up while you can, just find a balalnce betwen the two.
