The temperature’s getting hotter ladies, and its time to trade those winter layers in for bathing suits and shorty shorts. Finally, the days are here where you can run outside without a jacket, throw on some flip flops, head to the pool and soak up some much-needed sun. While springtime brings a plethora of fantastic fun, a great danger approaches us as we begin to strip off the coats and sweaters: the pressure to get the perfect “bikini body.” Women everywhere scramble to the gym to do workouts they hate, do thousands of crunches, beat themselves up over every doughnut they eat and sob in dressing rooms because they are so unhappy with their body. It’s time to end the cycle.

1. EveryBODY Is a Bikini Body.

Let’s get rid of the idea that there is one “bikini body” that looks like an elite athlete and supermodel had a lovechild, and the rest of us should just hide away in coverups for the remainder of forever. Your body in a bikini is a bikini body. A HOT bikini body that can rock it just as well as any supermodel.

2. Workout Because You Love Your Body, Not Because You Hate It

This time of year, it’s tempting to do whatever exercise promises to work off those extra Christmas cookies the fastest, but the best workout, and the one you won’t quit doing after one grueling session, is one you enjoy doing. Find exercises that make you happy and celebrate what your body can do instead of being frustrated with what it can’t.

3. Stop Comparing Yourself to Instagram Models

We’ve all seen the advertisements featuring girls with flawless skin and exceptionally sculpted bodies flaunting around, claiming that you too can have these seemingly godlike features should you buy this workout program/protein shake/wonder body pill, etc. They leave us with unrealistic expectations and disappointing results. Your body is real. It is a not an airbrushed photo.

4. Embrace Your Flaws

Fall in love with your flaws. Embrace imperfection. You are perfectly imperfect and deserve to love every ounce of yourself.
