Name: Taylor Morrell
Major: Mass Media
Classification: Senior
Fun Fact: I own my own clothing brand known as Hallelujah Trends.
HC: Tell us a little about yourself!
TM: I’m Taylor! This is my last year here at VSU. The friends I’ve made and the experiences I’ve had are irreplaceable. I thoroughly enjoy traveling. Whether its 200 miles or 2,000, I love seeing new places and faces. I work at the Campus Recreation center. No I’m not a gym rat, but I am a big advocate on health and fitness. I have a puppy named Mace and he’s somewhat Instagram famous.
HC: What are your aspirations in life?
TM: I aspire to become a film producer or director. Essentially, I would love my production and communication talents to take my camera and I around the world.
HC: What are you involved in on campus?
TM: I am a member of Habitat for Humanity, Future Business Leaders of America, Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Association, Gay Straight Alliance, and I’m also a University Ambassador.
HC: What are you currently doing to influence students on campus?
TM: Currently, I’m using my brand, Hallelujah Trends, to encourage students to embrace self expression as well as accept those that are “different.”
HC: Why should you be chosen for Homecoming Queen?
TM: Becoming homecoming queen would mean that I was able to send a message to the entire student body: You can make a name on campus for yourself by achieving high scholastic standards, joining various organizations, all the while being yourself. The tagline behind your name doesn’t have to be solely 1 organization, you can make a campus impact by being genuine, involved, and ambitious.
HC: If you were to be crowned Homecoming Queen, how would you use your title to impact our campus?
TM: I’d use the Homecoming Queen title to encourage students, that aren’t apart of Greek organizations, to get involved with the campus in other ways. VSU offers so many organizations that help students fine their niche as well as explore other comfort zones.
HC: What sets you apart from other candidates?
TM: Something that sets me apart from the other candidates is that I don’t belong to any Greek organization and I also made a name for myself on campus through working hard, demonstrating leadership and being genuine towards people.
Voting begins Tuesday, November 10th on Campus Connect! HCXO!
