Oh! the glorious day off, we rarely get one of these but when the opportunity makes itself apparent I’d advise jumping to take advantage of the situation. In this article, I’ll try m my best to inform you of the various ways you can truly take the day off.

1. Sleeping In

Sleeping in is one of the few wonderful, magnificent, and inexplicably awesome glories that you receive when you have a day off. It results in a plethora of benefits the first being a  lack of urgency. This means no longer having to worry and hurry to try to catch the bus to get to your 8:00 a.m. class. But most of all, sleeping in allows you to make up for the hours of sleep you missed the days before and truly relax your body, mind, and soul.

2. Make some breakfast.

I can’t tell you enough about the importance of making yourself breakfast in the morning. It’s something that I personally skip out on when I have a very busy day to my detriment. So if you have the opportunity to, go ahead and make yourself a luxurious breakfast whether that’s pancakes or a fancy French toast.

3. Schedule

The next thing I really recommend you to do is splitting your day into three distinct parts so that you can actively have fun in a variety of ways on this day of freedom. Those three distinct parts can be split into whatever avenues you prefer. For me, I know it would be watching TV, painting, and reading my favorite book. Splitting my day into these distinct parts allows me to not get carried away with one thing that I love and neglect the others.

4. Enhancements

On a side note, it’s important to realize that there are some things that you can add to your day that will just enhance it. This could be lighting a candle, doing the laundry, or even cleaning your room if that’s a de-stressor for you. Really anything that makes you feel just a little more relaxed and makes a day feel different than a typical workday. For me, there’s nothing more that I love on my day off and than eating a big bowl of pasta and watching my favorite TV show, but I realize that might be different for everyone. That’s okay, what’s important is to spend your wellness day off on yourself because if you don’t no one else will.
