Minimal makeup looks have become super sought-after in the makeup world over the last 2 years. Brands like Milk Makeup, Glossier, Flesh Beauty, and Ohii Beauty have been inspiring young makeup wearers to embrace the “your face but better” look. Here are a few products I personally love that will enhance your natural beauty!

Primer:  The best way to start off a minimalist look is by prepping the skin.

  • Maybelline Face Studio Master Prime Primer ($7.99) Hydrating/ mattifying formulas
  • Fenty Beauty PRO FILT’R Instant Retouch Primer ($ 32.00) Soft Matte finish

Concealer: Slight coverage in all the right places.

  • Colourpop No Filter Concealer ($6.00)
  • Glossier Stretch Concealer ($18.00)

Optional: Foundation Recommendations Foundation is definitley not required for a minimalist makeup look, but if you have more severe discoloration/ acne scarring here are some light to medium coverage recs.

  • Sunshine Skin Tint SPF 30 (42.00)
  • Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation ($5.49)

Setting Powder: May not be necessary for all, but if you have oily/ oily combination skin like I do, a light layer is a must!

  • Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder ($4.39)
  • E.L.F. Perfect Finish HD powder (6.00)

Blush: I personally just started using blush and when used (very!) sparingly, blush can add a fresh wash of color.

  • Colourpop Super Shock Blush ($8.00)
  • Juvia’s Place The Saharan Vol. I & II Blush Palette ($18.00)

Highlight: Everyone loves a good glow! The recs I have below are crème and liquid consistency. Both give a more natural “glow from within” highlight that powders just cannot provide.

  • Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter ($9.00)
  • Colourpop Supershock Highlighter ($8.00)

Bronzer: Instead of a harsh shadow-y contour, opt for a light bronzing around the perimeter of the face.

  • Morphe That Glow Bronzer Palette – 9BZ ($19.00)
  • Colourpop Pressed Powder Bronzer ($7.00)

Setting Spray: Make your base last all day with a light spritz.

  • All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray ($15.00-$32.00)
  • MARIO BADESCU Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater ($7.00)
  • NYX Professional Makeup Dewy Finish Makeup Setting Spray ($8.00)

Eyeshadow Palettes: Go for a simple, neutral eye look with colors not too far from your skin tone. These shadow pallets have the perfect transition, outer corner, inner corner, and lid colors for every shade.

  • Colourpop Double Entendre Pressed Powder Eyeshadow Palette ($16.00)
  • Juvia’s Place the Nubian Eyeshadow Palette ($20.00)

Optional: Eyeliner add definition to your lash line after your shadow is done.

  • NYX Professional Makeup Epic Ink Liner (9.00)
  • SEPHORA COLLECTION Colorful Wink-It Felt Liner Waterproof ($14.00) Go for a brown if you want a more natural liner look.

Lips: A cute sheer gloss will enhance your natural lip and give it a youthful shine! If you are not into that opt for a minimal lip balm.

  • Glossier Bomb dotcom ($12.00)
  • Fenty Beauty GLOSS BOMB Universal Lip Luminizer ($18.00)
  • Nyx Butter gloss ($5.00)

Mascara:  There are plenty of great mascaras, but these recs are great at lengthening, separating, and still looking natural. I recommend getting the mini sizes to save a few bucks!

  • Glossier Lash Slick ($16.00)
  • BENEFIT COSMETICS They’re Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara ($13.00-$25.00)
  • MILK MAKEUP KUSH High Volume Mascara ($12.00-$24.00)

With these recommendations you should be able to create a look that amplifies the beauty you already possess!
