Hey beautiful ladies!

By the time this article is posted, the students here at Valdosta State University have entered the 7th week of school. Only reason I know this to be true is because my English teacher (shout out to Mr. Gardner Rogers) broke down our classwork by weeks on BlazeView. I know that most of us aren’t counting the days before the semester is over, we’re just existing. So thanks, Mr. Gardner!

With that being said, I just want to touch base with y’all.

I don’t know about y’all, but ya girl is tired. Not just sleepy tired, mentally tired. Considering that I’m jumping back into the swing of things after three years of not being in school, I easily forgot how draining it is to be a college student. Kudos to the ones who also have a job on the side ‘cause that seems like a breakdown and a half. Quite honestly, the thought of that makes my chest hurt, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I just want to give y’all a few words of encouragement.

YOU GOT THIS!

  • We’ve been given the opportunity to go to college and get an education. Whether we’re here strictly off of loans, scholarships, or even gracious parents, WE ARE HERE.
  • I won’t throw religion in this simply because I know a lot of people aren’t necessarily religious, so I’ll just say be thankful.
  • This might sound extremely clichĂ©, but you could really be the breakthrough in your field. You could really change the game. Don’t give up now!
  • Yeah, take a break here and there, but whatever you do, don’t give up! College is not meant to be easy, so some of us have to work harder than others to make good grades. That’s a-okay! That doesn’t mean it’s impossible. If it was impossible, you wouldn’t be here getting it done. Just remember that!
  • Please ask for help when needed so you won’t feel as overwhelmed. This campus gives us so many opportunities to be great/help us exhale. We’re already paying for all of these advantages in our college fees. USE THEM. PLEASE. I BEG OF YOU.

You got this, girl. You’re capable of great things. If you need a break, TAKE A BREAK and get right back to it. The world needs you. This semester will eventually come to an end, don’t worry. Just take it one day and assignment at a time. I believe in you!

I hope this helps a little, if not
then I’m sorry. Hope y’all have a successful 7th week!

With love + words of encouragment
 maybe? Hopefully.
