One of the most important decisions you make every year is what to wear on Halloween. While it is hard enough to decide for yourself, it is immensely more difficult to do it as a couple. Whether it is coming up with the idea or deciding on a costume pair that pleases you both, couples’ costumes are definitely tricky. I know that technically Halloween was on Thursday, but really it lasts the whole weekend. If you need to magically come up with a costume by tonight, or just want to commemorate the best of the best, check out these successful couples costumes to plant the seeds for next year’s festivities!
1. Peter Pan and Tinkerbell
If you love Disney, this is a costume for you. A cute green dress, some wings, and a high bun make you the perfect tink. Just make sure your guy is okay with wearing tights!
2. Flapper and Gangster
Do you wish you were Daisy Buchanan? Really who doesn’t…? The Great Gatsby was a fantastic movie, and Leo was as beautifully charming as ever. If you’re motivated enough, your 20’s flapper and gangster costume could turn a frat party into a speak-easy.
3. Superman and Lois Lane
At first you look like a couple of business people, which is pretty boring, but then to everyone’s surprise you’re a superhero and a superhero’s girlfriend! Don’t forget the glasses, though! They make the outfit.
4. Pooh Bear and Little Red Riding Hood
For those of you who have no interest in coordinating, just go as something adorable! Pooh Bear is a definite winner, and Little Red Riding Hood is just as unique. While you may not look like you came together, you will definitely stand out.
5. James Bond and Bond Girl/German people
If you’re into classy yet simple costumes, you should go for the Bond look. A suit for the bro, a black dress for the babe, a couple of squirt guns, and you’ve got the look. For more creative couples, I am a huge fan of the German people costumes. This is probably the one occasion you have to dress like a yodeler or a Swiss Miss/Gretchen without judgment and you should most definitely take advantage of it.
I hope you are now inspired to dress up as a couple this year, or the next! Special thanks to those at the Kappa Sigma Halloween date party for the amazing couples’ costumes seen here. Happy Halloweek-end!
