Doing makeup in college can be hard. You want to look cute, but you only have so much time on your hands whilst juggling all those assignments and extracurriculars. Plus, finding that natural makeup look is a task in and of itself. Here’s what has worked best for my everyday college makeup routine.
-
Foundation I use Maybelline’s Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in natural beige after applying lotion to my face. I have rather oily skin, so this foundation keeps me from getting shiny throughout the day. I enjoy the medium coverage that gives me the my-skin-but-better look.
-
Powder I powder with Maybelline’s pairing Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder in the same shade. Then I contour my cheeks and forehead with Benefit’s Dallas Blush, and my nose with the Hoola Bronzer. I dust a little bit of the Hoola Bronzer onto my eyelids for an effortless eyeshadow look.
-
Eyebrows I use two products for my brows. I fill them with L’oreal’s Brow Stylist Definer in dark brunette then use Covergirl’s LashBlast Volume Waterproof Mascara in black-brown and run this over my hairs to define them. I know it’s unorthodox to use mascara on eyebrows, but I find the fat brush and short bristles of this mascara are really good for combing my brow hairs!
-
Eyeliner I use the L’oreal Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner in black. This is an extremely creamy pencil eyeliner that glides on so smoothly, is not streaky at all, and surprisingly precise for a pencil eyeliner after sharpening it. I draw a winged eyeliner, but I don’t line my entire top lid and the wing stays mostly in the outer corner of my eye so it’s less dramatic.
-
Mascara Because I have short and stubby Asian lashes, finding a mascara that doesn’t get onto my eyelids during application has been a struggle. L’oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara however has been my go-to mascara for years. The brush is thin and has tiny bristles that can coat even my bottom lashes without touching my eyelids. I apply this after curling my lashes with Revlon’s eyelash curler.
-
Lips For my lips I keep it simple and use Maybelline’s Baby Lips Lip Balm in Cherry Me. This keeps my lips from cracking in the dry, Nashville weather, and it also gives my lips a natural red tint.
