Last-Minute Additions For Your Christmas List!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Vanderbilt chapter.

Christmas break is almost here, and that means it’s finally time to submit your Christmas list to your parents (or Santa). Whether you have an established list already or absolutely no idea of what you want, take a look at our suggestions below for some guidance! Since your parents are already paying the steep price of Vanderbilt tuition, try not to drive them too crazy by asking for super-expensive things. But, of course, they are your parents, so feel free to put your bigger request(s) on this list!

1) Celebrate by Pippa Middleton

Pinterest has driven most of the young women at Vanderbilt into a hosting/party-planning frenzy this past year, so if you have a board on Pinterest dedicated to entertaining, you should definitely put this guide by Kate Middleton’s lovely little sister on your list. She stole all of our hearts when she wore that gorgeous dress at Kate’s wedding, and since then, she manages to keep us amazed with her classy, chic, and accesible fashion choices and generally sunny demeanor. Her book has gotten much praise since it’s release date, and it should definitely be considered a staple for every young woman’s Christmas list this year.

2) Lilly Pulitzer Sparkle Tote

Lilly Pulitzer is always one-stop shop for gifts, and this tote will round out your Christmas list perfectly, whether you’re in a sorority or not. The sparkly straps add flair to a classically cute bag that will hold all of your books and personal belongings for next semester. I’m personally partial to the tote in my sorority print, but they have many other versions in classic Lilly patterns for those unaffiliated chicas! Plus, if you really love Lilly, you might want to consider asking for one of their Murfee scarves in a state print (the one for my homestate, Florida, is ADORABLE!) or an agenda so you can stay organized!

3) MyCustom Yoga Mat

Trying to get more in shape this upcoming year? Ask for this yoga mat so you can transfer your monogramming obsession into your newfound fitness routine. The colors are adorable and you can bet that everyone at Hot Yoga Plus will be ogling your yoga mat and asking where you got it! Thanks parents!!!

4) Vineyard Vines Holiday Tumblers

If you’re still trying to get into the Christmas spirit, put these adorable tumblers on your list so you can stay in the spirit for months to come! Vineyard Vines is also a classic destination for gift shopping, so you won’t be inconveniencing your poor parents in the slightest by asking for these. Plus, they’ll look cute on your desk while you’re studying next semester (and even cuter in party pics!). I’m also a fan of the Vineyard Vines long-sleeved tees and lazy pants!

5) J.Crew Glitter iPhone Case & Fluorescent Satchel

J.Crew might be the source of your entire wardrobe, but it can also be a great place for your future Christmas gifts! I’m definitely putting their Glitter iPhone case on my Christmas list, because their cases are cute and actually do a good job of protecting my phone. But I’m also inclined to asking for this adorable fluorescent satchel, which comes in neon pink, yellow, and green, to ensure that I stand out in the sea of blacks and grays this winter!

Stacey Oswald, originally from South Florida, came to Vanderbilt as a member of the class of 2015 and got involved with HerCampus her freshman year. She became assistant editor that year and is now the Campus Correspondent for Vanderbilt HC as a sophomore. Stacey is currently a columnist for Ask Miss A- Nashville and the life section of The Hustler. She's also very involved in her sorority, Kappa Delta, as well as Invisible Children. Outside of school and her extracurriculars, Stacey finds happiness in many sources, the most crucial being exercise and the sun. She loves to attend exercise classes and is an avid runner; she recently completed the Country Music Half Marathon. She also loves Vitamin D, especially when on the beach- though of course, she only soaks up the sun after applying SPF. A few of the things Stacey couldn't live without? Good food (especially from Sweet Cece's, Bricktops, and Samurai Sushi), great books (The Hypnotist's Love Story is a recent favorite), her family back in Florida, her wonderful boyfriend, and all of the great friends she's made at Vanderbilt.
