Senior year is an exciting and scary time in college. You finally know your way around campus, you’ve found the easy classes to take, and you can legally get into any bar you want. But the stress also piles up. Who will hire me? Will I have to move back in with my parents? Will I be accepted to law/graduate/medical school? It’s a stressful time, but it’s also the best. It’s your last time living with college friends and goofing off.

I have a little bit of a different situation. This coming May, I’m graduating and hopefully starting my career. But in June, I’m getting married. It’s weird being engaged in college. Our society today has the average age of marriage at 29. I’ll be reliving the 1950s as I walk down the aisle at 21 years old. It can be hard acting like a typical college senior when I’m also planning the near-future with a husband. Sometimes it feels like two totally different lives. But even though wedding planning can be stressful, I know I’m making the right choice.

The important thing is that I don’t let wedding planning stop me from enjoying my last year of college. I love college like any other senior. I go out with friends, stress out over homework, and eat too many frozen meals. It can be hard knowing my friends and I are moving apart after graduation. We have a College Bucket List that we are slowly but surely checking off. It’s fun enjoying our last month of college but whenever we get too sad, we just remember that real life has no term papers.

Even with the stress of planning a wedding and the bittersweet moments of graduating college, I can’t wait for the future!
