Five Essentials for the Fall Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at VCU chapter.

With the new season approaching, it’s time to gather those products for fall.  These five essentials will help every collegiette prepare for the crisp fall air!

1. A Dark Lipstick

In the fall we brace the darker colors, so why not play up a focal point of your face?  Choose a deep red, burgundy or wine color lipstick. Rock it with your favorite natural makeup look so you don’t overdo it.

2. An Infinity Scarf

The cold temperatures call for more layers, which means more shopping!  Infinity or loop scarves are perfect to top off any outfit and keep you warm.  They come in many simple colors and abstract prints.

3. Tall Riding Boots

Riding boots protect your feet from the cold and make a simple fashion statement.  Zip them up with your favorite pair of leggings or jeans and show them off!

4. An Illuminating Highlighter

Even when the suns not out, you can still shine bright!  Apply your favorite illuminating highlighter on the tops of your cheekbones for that fresh faced dewy look.

5. Pumpkin Flavored Anything and Everything

Fall is the season for warm soup, hot chocolate and everyone’s favorite seasonal flavor; pumpkin!  I don’t know about you, but when I hear the date that Starbucks is bringing back their pumpkin spice latte, I put it on my calendar.  I also scavenge the grocery store for anything and everything pumpkin flavored.  My favorites include pumpkin English muffins, pumpkin swirl toast, pumpkin spice/pie coffee creamer and pumpkin spice coffee Keurig k-cups.

These five essentials will help any collegiette dive right into fall! Get ready for the season of comfy sweaters, leggings and pumpkin flavors!
