Paris Fashion Week Review: Street Style

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at VCU chapter.

Paris Fashion Week recently wrapped up and keeping up with all the events, trends, runways and designers is hard enough to keep in order, but for people who are not consistently in the fashion industry or who pay attention to the industry greatly overlook and underappreciate a key part of the week’s festivities: the street style. These are the outfits that people who are in the area either viewing the shows, attending the events or just passing by are wearing that happens to capture the attentive fashion photographer and fashion scout’s eye.

That being said, here I am to give you a guide, not to any of the actual shows that occurred or event any of the events that went on over the course of the week, but to the street style that was spotted in the surrounding areas of the city sporting some of the trends that were reflected on the runways and the future trends of the industry. Some of these are avant-garde looks and others are refined and sophisticated. The reason that the street style of fashion weeks and runways are so important is that it is a reflection of the individual’s style. The curation of the designer’s style that they are going to see that later become the trends for future seasons in addition to the receptions of trends, colors, silhouettes and cuts that are seen on the actual runway.

Without further ado, here are my top 20 looks from the streets of Paris.

And those are what I found to be the most interesting, trend-setting and unique looks from the streets of Paris, outside of the main events of runways and designers.
