In addition to the heat, there is an aspect of summer that may make you sweat: wedding season. As lovely and fun as most weddings are, they have their drawbacks and, as a college student, you may have multiple weddings to attend over the space of only a few months. From expensive dresses to family drama, weddings can be stressful, so here are some tips on how to survive the season.
1)Â Â Â Â Â Find one versatile outfit
Getting a different dress for multiple weddings can break the bank fast. Instead, find one adorable dress and switch up your look with accessories like shoes, statement necklaces and cardigans. Â
2)Â Â Â Â Â Bring a flask
If there is not an open bar at a wedding, there are either no drinks or they are way over-priced. While no one should get sloppy drunk at a wedding (don’t be the girl that pukes on the dance floor!), a drink or two can make the experience easier and more fun. So grab an adorable purse to stow a flask in to give the punch some punch.
3)Â Â Â Â Â Hangover cures
Bachelorette parties, after parties, and mimosas, oh my! Sometimes weddings can be a little too fun, causing the morning after to be rough. So locate the nearest Waffle House before the morning after, pop some Aspirin, or use that flask for a little hair of the dog to ensure you can function at all the events.
4)Â Â Â Â Â Come prepared (everyone will love you)
Bring concealer, deodorant, a safety pin and any other essentials with you to all the wedding events. Even if you don’t end up needing them, someone else might. You never know when an extra bobby pin will save the day.
5)Â Â Â Â Â Avoid drama
Wedding stress can cause tension in a lot of families. The best way to deal with drama is to walk away from it. Or watch from a safe distance with your friends and have a laugh.
6)     Have fun  Â
Even if some can be tedious, weddings are meant to be a celebration of love with friends and family. So embrace the rose pink and constant photos because they are all a part of the experience. Remember that the wedding is for the couple; as long as they are happy, that’s all that really matters!
