As usual, the 57th Annual Grammy Awards’ red carpet did not disappoint. Celebrities donned labels from Tom Ford to Gucci. And it’s no surprise that the most relevant trend this season, sheer, was exceedingly present.
1. Ariana Grande
The ‘Love Me Harder’ songstress looked stunning in her Versace gown. The metallic accent gave the dress a fresh, well needed, edge that made her unforgettable. She was accompanied by her rapper boyfriend Big Sean, who complemented her look in an all-black tux.
2. Gwen Stefani
The No Doubt artist arrived to the Grammys in a hand-sewn Atelier Versace jumpsuit. Playing into the current sheer trend, the jumpsuit’s artistic twist suited the fashion mogul’s style perfectly.
3. Meghan Trainor
Meghan Trainor looked absolutely amazing in her Galia Lahav gown. She was all about that lace…and sheer — pun intended. Meghan Trainor also had her father by her side to share her special red carpet moment with.
4. Katy Perry
It was impossible for Katy Perry not to shine on the Grammys red carpet. She wore a crystal-embellished, sheer dress designed by Zuhair Murad. Her goal for the night was to shine like a diamond, and she did so effortlessly.
5. Kim Kardashian-West
It’s no surprise Kim made it on this list — who would expect any less of her? She wore a gold sequined dress by Jean Paul Gaultier, actually chosen by her hubby Kanye, with a high slit for some major leg action. And of course with a dress like this, there’s a risk factor. Kim suffered from a wardrobe malfunction, but it’s probably not what you would assume. The pocket on the reality star’s gown completely fell off, but thanks to her trusty crew it was fixed before anyone could notice something was off.
6. Nicki Minaj
The ‘Anaconda’ rap queen donned a black sequin, fringed, Tom Ford gown to the Grammys. Nicki Minaj has been known in the past to wear some pretty outrageous things, but thankfully she’s toned down the crazy and turned up the elegance. The form-fitting gown was the perfect choice for Nicki.
7. Lady Gaga
Despite being known for her also outlandish appearances, Gaga showed restraint and class on the red carpet this year. On the arm of the legendary Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga wore a silver-sequined gown by Brandon Maxwell, accompanied by diamonds and emeralds.
8. Taylor Swift
The ‘Shake It Off’ artist wore an alluring Elie Saab dress with violet Giuseppe Zanotti sandals. The structure of the dress was the most alluring part of it. Critics were torn about whether they liked her look or not, but then again the haters gonna hate.
9. Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus definitely surprised us with her version of conservative on the red carpet. She actually looked grown up. Miley wore a black Alexandre Vauthier gown with strategic cutouts and a strappy back. It was a great look from her and we look forward to seeing more of this in the future.
10. Madonna
Madonna was memorable at the Grammys this year, but not in a good way. She wore Givenchy but the matador theme was not working for her. Madonna was doing too much with the knee high boots and the bull-fighter bodysuit. It just felt forced and a little uncomfortable.
