Whitney Elizabeth Houston (August 9, 1963 – February 11, 2012)
Whitney Houston had the greatest voice of her time. She was an icon, a vocalist, and made a huge impact on numerous individuals. She had style and she had the voice of an angel. These blessings sent from heaven couldn’t keep Whitney out of trouble. She fell in love with another pop star, Bobby Brown and from then on, he is what seems to have shaped the rest of her career. Houston became addicted to hard drugs which in turn caused her career to spiral down and her voice to decay. No matter what road Whitney’s career went down, the world would forever hold that iconic voice near to their ears and their hearts. Just a few years ago Whitney had her come back with a new album and an upbeat song, Million Dollar Bill. After the drugs and abuse Whitney’s voice would never be the same, but the world appreciated what Houston had left to give. Her fan’s had hope.
Sadly enough, Whitney Houston passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012 . It is still unknown to the public as to the cause of her death, but just as the world mourned Michael Jackson the king of pop, Whitney Houston is now grieving her death just the same. The Grammy’s prepared a short (too short) tribute for Ms. Houston, performed by Jennifer Hudson. Hudson’s voice portrayed respect, sorrow, and admiration for the late Whitney Houston while she sang one of the legends’s most enjoyed songs, “I Will Always Love You”.
Whitney Houston will not only be loved by her fans, but she will forever stand as an influence for performers and vocalist to come.
