What made you choose VCU? I love the city. Plus, I originally wanted to come here for theater. VCU ended up being the only school I applied to my senior year.

Where is your favorite place to go in Richmond? Scuffletown! I would tell you where it is, but I don’t want people to start showing up there.

Who is your greatest influence or role model? My mother. She’s the perfect example of someone who looks for the good in everyone, and doesn’t understand why love has to be conditional. Plus, she’s an amazing baker.

What is a fun fact about you? My uvula is split in two. That fact is more gross than fun. Sorry.

What is your biggest pet peeve? Not following simple rules. Like, if it’s time to be quiet, just be quiet. If a sign says, “Don’t smoke here,” DON’T SMOKE THERE. IT ISN’T DIFFICULT.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Aubrey Plaza. I don’t care that she’s female. She’s funny as hell.

What fictional character do you wish you could be? Katniss Everdeen. I mean, the most difficult decision she has to face is whether to choose Peeta or Gale. Uhh…yes, please.

Who is your celebrity crush? I have a fair amount of celebrity crushes, but through and through, I am a Zooey Deschanel worshipper.

Pepsi or Coke? No thank you.

What is your dream job? A late-night talk show host (think Jimmy Fallon or Conan O’Brien) because then I can put the number one lesson I learned at VCU to good use — how to stay up late.

What is your biggest fear? Falling. Heights are okay, but if there is any chance of me falling and breaking any bone in my body, no thanks.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? Atlantis. I’m all about swimming with the fishes in a majestic underwater utopia.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Fun-loving, caring, hard working (Can that count as one?)

Sarah is from Lynchburg, Virginia but has lived in Richmond since attending Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012 where she studied Mass Communications with a concentration in print journalism. She began contributing to Her Campus at VCU as a freshman and was developed to lead the chapter as Campus Correspondent for two years where she increased membership by 65% and brought the chapter ranking from bronze level to platinum level. She enjoyed attending both the mid-atlantic conferences held with the chapter at the College of William & Mary and Her Conferences held in NYC.  Sarah currently works in the tech industry in marketing. She has a background in communications, hospitality and nonprofit consulting. She still loves attending VCU basketball games and also loves live music. In her free time, she likes going on long walks with her dog, tending to her house plants and cycling around downtown. Fun fact: she has never owned a car and is a community advocate for public transit. Connect with Sarah on LinkedIn.
