Nexxus Split End Binding Daily Conditioner: Love it or Leave it?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Virginia Tech chapter.

When is the last time you have been a victim of successful advertising? Have you bought a beauty product only to realize it was a waste of money? You’re not the only one. I continuously fall for the glitz and glam in ad campaigns for new products, whether it’s promising longer, fuller, healthier hair or magically transforming my face into the likes of Beyoncé or Meagan Fox. Unfortunately, like a moth to light I continue to fall for these tricks. Luckily, you don’t have to. I’m going to test the most advertised products and tell you if they are worth your money.

This week I tried Nexxus Split End Binding Daily Conditioner. The most brittle and damaged parts of our hair are the ends because they are the oldest. It is recommended to trim your hair every six to eight weeks, because removing split ends helps hair grow healthy and strong. I am not a fan of getting my hair trimmed so when I heard about this Split End Binding Conditioner, I had to try it. The product claims it can bind 86% of split ends in three washes. After using it every day for four days, I did see a slight difference but definitely not $15 worth of a difference. As soon as I blow-dried and flat-ironed my hair, the split ends came right back.

Verdict: Leave it

I suggest buying a cheaper conditioner or a 2 in 1 shampoo with conditioner. Just go ahead and get scheduled trims instead of wasting your money on this product.

Have you used this product before? If so, did it work for you?
