Spring is for Social Media Rebranding!

Spring is finally here! This means it’s time for us to dream of all the cute social media pictures we plan on taking during the vacation season. Many of us strive to create accounts with aesthetic photos, that are both attractive and cohesive. And what better time to get those photos than a season when the weather is nice, warm, and perfect for a photoshoot? 

But there’s a slight problem. Many of us don’t post anything like how we dream. We always fantasize about having the perfect account, but unsurprisingly it’s easier to dream than create. So, how are we going to suddenly conjure up Instagram influencer-worthy posts? The answer lies in a simple social media rebrand!

A rebrand is a change in a brand identity, and in this case, the brand is you and your social media! If you are looking to create a positive change and finally acquire the account you dreamed of, then this is the article for you! Here are five easy steps to help you create the social media account of your dreams.

Answer the question, “Who are you?”

Now I know what you’re thinking, “Well that’s a deep question.” In the philosophical sense, yes, but we don’t have to worry about that for a rebrand. All you need is a few words that represent you.

Think of adjectives that describe yourself like cool, pretty, or elegant. You can also think of other words that embody your vibe like colors, aesthetics, or styles. Now, write a list of those words on a piece of paper or your notes app to use in the next step. 

Look yourself up

For the next step, you want to take all those words, or just your select favorites and put them into the Pinterest search bar one by one. Pinterest is an image/video platform and also a great way to take your ideas to the next level. Not only does it help you better visualize your thoughts, but it also helps you expand them through other related photos. Go through some pictures, and save some of the ones you really like. I would specifically focus on photos you could see yourself posting on your socials. 

Create a vision board

At this point, you should have several photos that showcase your desired brand. The next step is to cut out said photos (physically or digitally), so you can create a vision board to help you fully envision your new account! You could even cut the pictures into squares to further imagine your dream social media layout. 

Take photos like your references

This next step is where we take all that dreaming and turn it into a reality. You need to take your photos. This isn’t something that will happen in just one day unless you are extremely ambitious and are okay with losing some sleep, but if not, give yourself patience.

If you already have an account, you know that taking your dream photos isn’t always easy, but hopefully, the previous steps will help you have a plan you can reference to make it easier to take the pictures in your goal.
