Are you looking for some new restaurants to try out? I love the delicious food Virginia Tech has to offer in its dining halls, but I really enjoy exploring dining options available to me off campus too. From Japanese sushi to Greek cuisine, downtown Blacksburg has a lot to offer. Over the past year, I have had an amazing time checking out new restaurants with my friends and family. Here are a few of my favorites.
- Cabo fish taco
-
Housed in one of Blacksburg’s oldest historical properties, Cabo Fish Taco offers unique appetizers and salads, including Crispy Calamari and Guacamole Salmon Salad. They also have a diverse variety of tacos, quesadillas, and burritos. Each of them comes with a side of your choice. They have great service, and the music and atmosphere are very enjoyable. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
- Green’s grill and sushi bar
-
On College Avenue, Green’s Grill and Sushi Bar offer a little of everything. You can find Mediterranean wraps, sushi, Teriyaki Bowls and so much more. Their hand-rolled sushi rolls are delicious and unique. They also have a lot of vegetarian options. Their Miso soup is not something you would want to miss. Their service is amazing and is an amazing place to try out if you like sushi.
- India garden
-
India Garden offers great North Indian cuisine. You can find samosas, tandoori platters, traditional curries, and biryani. They offer a wide selection of food for you to choose from on their menu and also have bread baskets you can customize to your liking. They also offer some great desserts for their customers as well. It is a great place to dine, and you should definitely try it out yourself.
- mezeh
-
If you like Mediterranean cuisine and Chipotle, you should definitely try out Mezeh. This Mediterranean grill is a great place to visit for bowls, flatbread wraps, or pita pockets. Located on University Blvd, Mezeh offers a great selection of toppings, dips, and protein for you to create your own bowl or wrap. You never know what you’ll grow to love, so be creative and venture into the unknown by trying new combinations.
- souvlaki
-
On College Avenue, Souvlaki offers Greek cuisine, including spanakopita, grilled pitas with cucumber sauce, gyros and so much more. You can also try out Greek salads, chicken salads, and baklava. They also provide coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and other drinks as well. It is a great place to dine with others. Souvlaki is the place to go for Pita Pizza and some great Greek cuisine.
I love every one of these restaurants, and they are great places to try out if you haven’t already!
